Established in 1995, the Department of Sanskrit at BNC promotes the appreciation of this rich and scientific language, crucial to the understanding of several Indian cultural, philosophical and religious traditions. The thrust areas of the course are Vedic and Upanishadic lore, history of ancient Indian cultures, philosophy, Ayurveda, Jyotisha, Vastu and other areas of Indology.
The Sanskrit Department consists of a dedicated team of teachers who are also note-worthy scholars in their field of specialization.

The Sanskrit Parishad society organizes many literary departmental programmers such as Sanskrit Gadya Pathh Pratiyogita, Sanskrit Sukti Lekhan Pratiyogita, Sanskrit Shlok uchcharan pratiyogita etc.
