About NCWEB BNC Centre
Delhi University was established in 1922 and by an amendment of Delhi University Act in 1943, Women students were enabled to take some of the examination of the University with special coaching but without attending regular classes. This gave shape to the Non-Collegiate Women’s Education Board (NCWEB), which is now well established. Only women students residing in the National capital Territory of Delhi can enroll themselves as students of the Board. NCWEB is a unique system with lectures on weekends leaving students with five working days to follow their dream. In this neo–age of 100% cut- offs class room crunch, gender discrimination NCWEB is a welcome arrangement and a most satisfactory way to attain a degree from University of Delhi.
In the Bhagini Nivedita College, the Non-Collegiate Women’s Education Board (NCWEB) was opened in 2015-16. The college enables thousands of young women, who cannot join regular college for various reasons to attend classes during Saturdays; academic breaks to obtain Undergraduate Degree from the renowned University of Delhi.
Students are expected to attend classes regularly as the minimum 66% attendance has been made mandatory to appear in for University Examinations, which are held along with the students of regular colleges.
The college provides library facility to all under graduate students in the Bhagini Nivedita College.
The Board gives financial aid and book loan facility for the academic year to the needy and deserving students.
The classes are held only on Saturdays and academic breaks of Delhi University. There are 50 teaching days in a year.
At the Under-graduate center, classes are held from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. There are 7 periods in a day.
Teachers of the University of Delhi and affiliated Colleges are deputed as guest faculty to teach the Non-Collegiate students. The pass percentage of these students is as good as regular students.
A major advantage of the Non-Collegiate programme of teaching is its low cost and utilization of the existing infrastructure of educational institutions during Saturdays and academic breaks.
